Claire Fitzgerald appointed to SHPA Leadership Committees

Claire has also recently been recognised by the new Australian and New Zealand College of Advanced Pharmacy as a Consultant in both these areas.

Claire’s presence in these groups will allow Icon to be at the forefront of informing policy, advocating for change and influencing pharmacy practice – all key to helping us provide the best possible care to patients.

This appointment is Claire’s first term on the committees, and after a competitive nomination/election process, she is very excited to get started and dive into her areas of specialty.

Other committee members have expressed their excitement for Claire’s appointment, recognising her expertise and acknowledging the depth of value she will bring.

Claire has more than 20 years of hospital pharmacy experience in operational management, quality improvement and clinical research, medication safety, education and training, compounding, clinical trials, oncology and clinical pharmacy services.

She is passionate about the role pharmacy can play in quality use of medicines and keeping patients safe – and is looking forward to helping improve safety for patients across Australian hospitals and at Icon Group as part of the SHPA leadership committees.
