Celebrating our 2025 Iconic Awards Winners

At Icon, our annual Iconic Awards are held to recognise those that go above and beyond, embodying what it truly means to be Iconic.

As 2025 draws to a close, the global Icon network came together last night at our virtual awards ceremony to celebrate the finalists and winners of each category. 

There are individual iconic awards for each of Icon’s five values – Innovate, Energy, On-Purpose, Connect and Nurture, along with a team winner, a People’s Choice individual and team winner and finally the overall Icon of the year.

Innovate 

Innovation is at the heart of what we do at Icon, as we seek to continuously push the boundaries of efficiency and precision, to ultimately provide the best care possible for our patients.  

Innovate winner is Jess Lovegrove, Production Manager, Slade Health Mt Kuring-gai, New South Wales.  

Jess is a forward-thinking leader who can transform ideas into practical improvements and is able to foster innovative collaboration across Slade Health sites. By adapting proven systems with new ideas, Jess has strengthened capability and transformed new teams into connected and determined groups that deliver exceptional care. 

Energy 

At Icon, Energy is imperative to creating a source of motivation and positivity. This enthusiasm enables colleagues across our network to consistently inspire others. 

Energy winner is Abbey Curran, Senior Radiation Therapist, Icon Cancer Centre Mildura, Victoria. 

Abbey combines calm professionalism with a genuine warmth, by supporting patients through every step of their journey. She is committed to learning and community engagement involving herself in fundraisers and department tours for students, inspiring the next generation of radiation therapists. 

On-Purpose 

With a drive to make an impact through quality and consistency, Icon encourages its team members to deliver purposeful interactions with both colleagues and patients. 

On-Purpose winner is Amanda Hoon, Staff Nurse, Icon Cancer Centre Farrer Park, ASEAN. 

Amanda exemplifies nursing excellence by combining integrity, empathy and professionalism to ensure patients feel informed and supported throughout treatment. Her calming presence in difficult situations reflects a consistent patient-led approach. 

Connect 

The value of Connect at Icon is demonstrated through fostering lasting and impactful relationships with both our patients and colleagues across the network. 

Connect winner is Laura Young, Radiation Therapist & Clinical Process Manager, Clinical Care – Core Services

Laura has played an instrumental role in establishing Icon’s new Bali department, leading with professionalism, empathy and determination. Her leadership has been critical in embedding Icon’s standards and workflows, enabling the delivery of safe, high-quality care. Through her adaptability and resilience, Laura has united a new team with shared purpose, strengthened capability across the site and helped lay the foundation for ongoing cancer care excellence across Indonesia. 

Nurture 

At Icon, Nurture is embodied by our team members, bringing compassion and genuine care for patients and their families, during the most difficult times. 

Nurture winner is Sofia Su Ye, Pharmacist (Oncology), Slade Pharmacy, Auchenflower, Queensland. 

Sofia brings kindness and dedication to deliver personalised pharmacy support that helps patients feel confident and cared for. Her reassuring presence and exceptional work ethic leaves a lasting and emotionally inspiring impact on both patients and colleagues. 

Team 

Our various teams across the global Icon network consistently deliver exceptional results, even during the most difficult conditions, highlighting their unified purpose and professional collaboration. 

Team winner is the Information Technology Integration Team, Core Services UK. 

This year the team ensured seamless connectivity and operational stability during a year of rapid change, prioritising patient safety and business continuity. Through innovation, professionalism and global collaboration, they worked to strengthen Icon’s systems and laid an important foundation for the group’s future growth. 

People’s Choice Individual  

Nominated by peers, this award recognises the exceptional efforts of an individual that lives through Icon’s values and is noticed by all those around them. 

People Choice Individual winner is Jarrod Pace, Pharmacy Manager, Slade Pharmacy, South Brisbane, Queensland. 

Jarrod exemplifies generosity, teamwork and unwavering support for his colleagues. He is always available to assist with clinical queries, share insights or offer guidance, no matter how busy he is. He ensures that all patients receive the highest standard of care, as his support and collaborative spirit motivates all those around him. 

People’s Choice Team 

This award recognises the collective efforts of a team across Icon’s global network that deliver the highest standards of work, whilst working collaboratively with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. 

People’s Choice Team winner is the Clean Room Refurbishment Team, Slade Health AU/NZ. 

This team was able to deliver exceptional results under difficult conditions, completing the Slade Health Mt Waverly refurbishment in a timely and efficient manner. Depending on each other, they worked seamlessly across operations, adapted to dynamic situations and balanced the workload, demonstrating their dedication to patient care and living through Icon’s values. 

Icon of the Year  

And our Icon of Year, showing outstanding dedication to patient care goes to Laura Young, Radiation Therapist & Clinical Process Manager, Clinical Care – Core Services. 

Laura’s work in setting up Icon Cancer Centre Bali exemplifies all of Icon’s values and our mission to deliver the best care possible. Through her dedication, patients in Indonesia can now receive the same high-quality, patient-centred care that defines Icon around the world.  

Her contribution marks an important step in expanding access to care in places in need.
