Administration Officer - Icon Cancer Centre, Noarlunga, SA




As a Medical Administration Officer, you’ll ensure our centre runs seamlessly while delivering exceptional care to our patients and families. From booking appointments to processing billing, your attention to detail and customer service will enhance the experience for every patient who walks through our doors.
  
Key Responsibilities:  
  • Welcome patients with warmth and professionalism.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient information accurately.
  • Handle patient billing and discuss fees with confidence.
  • Respond to enquiries via phone and in person.
  • Support the administration team with organisational tasks.

About you:
We are looking for an experienced Administration Officer with outstanding customer service skills to join our team.  Are you proactive, personable, and passionate about delivering outstanding service? Join us if you have:
  • Experience in a front-line administrative role including the use of electronic management systems.
  • An understanding of Medicare and health insurance funds would be an advantage.
  • Windows (or similar) programs e.g., Email, Word
  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively in a team environment and plan, coordinate and organise workloads to achieve quality patient service outcomes in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication and collaborative problem-solving skills when managing difficult and sensitive issues with team members, patient and their families, VMO’s and other customers.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively as a team member, supporting the Icon values to achieve Vision and Mission of Icon.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of resilience and emotional intelligence while working in a demanding and stressful environment. Ability to establish successful relationships with team members, patients, doctors and other customers by ensuring needs and expectations are understood and managed in a timely and effective manner thereby enhancing clinical services.
  • Ongoing development of skills and knowledge by participating in training and development programs to ensure competence to meet operational needs, achieve strategic goals and engage team members in their work.
