We are looking for a Clinical Pharmacist to join our pharmacy team based at the St Vincent’s Private Hospital in East Melbourne. You will provide clinical pharmacy services to inpatients and assist in our dispensary ensuring that all pharmacy activities are completed to a high standard while supporting the quality use of medicines.

This role would suit either someone with previous hospital experience wanting to use their existing clinical skills or someone looking to break into hospital pharmacy.
St. Vincent’s Private Hospital, East Melbourne is a 164-bed facility. Their core specialties include Orthopaedics, ENT/ Otolaryngology, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Paediatrics, Oncology, General surgery, Ophthalmology, Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, Rehabilitation, Urology and Breast Cancer Surgery.
About the Role
In this role you will rotate through wards and dispensary. Your responsibilities will include:
- Efficiently and effectively dispensing and distributing medication.
- Conducting medication history interviews, performing medication reconciliations (Medication Management Plans), and preparing discharge summaries during transitions of care.
- Offering medication counselling and education to patients.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide advice on patient care.
- Contributing to training and educational sessions for pharmacy staff, nursing staff, medical personnel, and allied health professionals.
- Assisting in overseeing imprest services and ensuring the continuity of medication supply.
- Considering the financial implications of medication use both within the hospital and for patients obtaining medicines in the community.
About You
We welcome all Pharmacists to apply, whether you’re an experienced Hospital Pharmacist or an aspiring Community Pharmacist looking for your first Hospital Pharmacy experience. You will possess:
- Current Pharmacist registration with AHPRA
- Relevant Australian pharmacy experience
- Ability to manage your own workload with good communication skills to effectively liaise with a wide range of health professionals
- Passion for building on your clinical skills and knowledge
