Clinical Pharmacist - Emergency Medicine | Slade Pharmacy Richmond, VIC




The Opportunity:
We have a fantastic permanent part-time opportunity available to join our fast-paced and engaging team onsite at the Epworth Hospital in Richmond. Join our team of clinical and ED pharmacists to provide exceptional care to all patients at Epworth Richmond, from admission right up to discharge.

As a highly valued member of the multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to expand on your current clinical skills, working alongside a multidisciplinary team of nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, to leave a lasting positive impact on patient care.

The hours:
This is a permanent part-time opportunity, working Mondays and Fridays from 12:00pm – 8:00pm, and every second Saturday from 10:00am – 2:00pm. Will consider splitting the role for the right applicant.

Key responsibilities:
  • Prioritise patients needs and admission reviews from referring doctors
  • Complete Best Possible Medication History for high risk patients or as directed by ED doctors
  • Conduct medication chart reviews and medication reconciliation
  • Dispense and supply medication and pharmacy products
  • Coordinate patient medication requirements for inpatient stay, day infusions and discharge
  • Deliver a high level of clinical pharmacy services to our patients in accordance with professional, legislative and ethical standards.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service to clients and patients
  • Support patients, carers, hospital staff and associated employees
  • Educate and advise staff and customers on health promotion, disease prevention, drug selection and the proper use of medicines

About you:
We are looking for a passionate individual who has strong organisational skills and high attention to detail. This is a fast-paced and high-risk environment; therefore, you will have the ability to work under pressure while delivering a high standard of patient care with sensitivity, empathy and professionalism.

Skills & Experience:
  • Current Pharmacist registration with AHPRA
  • Relevant hospital pharmacy experience
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly driven and enthusiastic
  • High level of time management, planning and organisation ability
  • Focused on delivering a high standard of customer service
