The Opportunity:
As a Day Hospital Receptionist / Medical Secretary on a permanent full-time basis (Weekday Shifts), you’ll join a truly connected team at Icon Cancer Centre Wesley. Key Responsibilities:
Main Reception & Practice / Secretarial
  • Working as part of an administration team to support a large group of doctors daily.
  • Rotating duties of front reception Day Hospital reception, rotating early and late shifts.
  • Answering telephone calls and responding to enquiries.
  • Process patient admission to the hospital, check private healthcare details and collecting excess and co-pays as required.
  • Collecting funds for NIL / Overseas patients at completion of their apt.
  • Welcoming patients, collecting, and entering personal details and referrals are up to date.
  • Ensuring patients details are checked and updated on a regular basis.
  • Ensuring that patients arrivals are marked and manage wait room functions for both medical practice and day hospital as needed.
  • Organise theatre/hospital bookings in CHARM & TotalCare booking systems.
  • Liaise with patient admission teams in regard to change of treatments and eligibility.
  • Maintaining and managing patient information.
  • Supporting Icon's WHS Officers and committees to effectively carry out their responsibilities.
  • Modelling and promoting Icon's vision and values.

Selection Criteria
  • Experience with Medicare, DVA and Private Health Insurance 
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly in Word and Excel 
  • Delivery of excellent client service (to internal and/or external clients) 
  • Possessing basic knowledge of medical terminology
