Deputy State Manager, Icon Cancer Centres, Queensland


Due to internal opportunities, we’re excited to offer a dynamic executive leadership opportunity within our Cancer Services division. This role will oversee a portfolio of cancer centres across Queensland, driving operational excellence and strategic growth.
  
Reporting to the Queensland State Manager, the Deputy State Manager will lead operations, ensuring high-quality, patient-centred care while achieving financial and performance targets. This is a key leadership role with scope to influence innovation and service development across the state.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Culture
  • Inspire and guide multidisciplinary teams across designated cancer centres.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Support the State Manager in delivering strategic outcomes and maintaining strong site engagement.
Operational & Financial Management
  • Oversee financial performance, including P&L management, KPI delivery and budget alignment.
  • Ensure operational compliance and drive efficiency across services.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and project execution.
Business Development & Growth
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with medical professionals and stakeholders.
  • Lead business development initiatives and strategic partnerships to support service expansion and innovation.
Quality & Service Excellence
  • Champion patient-centred care and uphold regulatory standards.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and operational enhancements.
Project Leadership
  • Manage key development projects aligned with strategic goals.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for growth and service innovation.
About You
We’re looking for a driven and adaptable leader who thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment. You’ll bring:
  • Minimum 3 years’ senior leadership experience in healthcare (oncology or private sector preferred).
  • Strong understanding of cancer care delivery models and health sector funding.
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex operations.
  • Sound understanding of healthcare compliance and quality frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health or business (postgraduate preferred).
  • A commitment to innovation, excellence, and continuous learning.
