We're seeking an experienced healthcare leader to join our Queensland leadership team as Deputy State Manager. Reporting to the Queensland State Manager, you'll play a key leadership role across a network of 21 cancer centres throughout metropolitan and regional Queensland. Working in partnership with site leaders, doctors, hospital partners and corporate support teams, you'll help deliver high-quality, patient-centred care while driving operational excellence, business performance and continuous improvement across the network.
  
This is a diverse leadership role with responsibility for operational performance, financial management, stakeholder engagement, business development and service improvement. You'll work closely with the Queensland State Manager and site leaders to enhance performance, deliver strategic initiatives, identify opportunities for sustainable growth, and support the ongoing development of cancer services across Queensland.
  
We're looking for a collaborative leader with the ability to build trusted relationships, influence across a broad stakeholder group and lead through complexity. You'll bring proven experience leading multi-site healthcare operations, developing high-performing leaders, delivering strong operational and financial outcomes, and successfully implementing change. Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Culture
  • Lead and support a portfolio of cancer centres to achieve strategic, operational, financial and patient experience outcomes.
  • Develop and mentor leaders, building leadership capability and fostering accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Build a connected and engaged culture that encourages innovation, shared learning and a commitment to excellence across the network.  
Operational & Financial Management  
  • Drive operational excellence and sustainable business performance across the portfolio.
  • Oversee financial performance, including P&L management, KPI delivery, forecasting and budget accountability.
  • Lead the implementation of operational strategies that improve productivity, efficiency and patient outcomes.
  • Monitor performance, identify opportunities for improvement and implement initiatives that strengthen operational effectiveness.  
Business Development & Growth
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with doctors, hospital partners and key stakeholders.
  • Identify and deliver opportunities for growth, service expansion and innovation.
  • Support business development initiatives and strategic partnerships across the network.
  • Partner with clinical and operational leaders to strengthen doctor engagement, referral growth and service development opportunities.  
Quality & Service Excellence
  • Champion exceptional patient-centred care and a culture of service excellence.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives, accreditation outcomes and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead initiatives that enhance patient, doctor and staff experience.
  • Promote a strong culture of quality, safety and risk management across all centres.  
Project Leadership
  • Manage key development projects aligned with strategic goals.
  • Lead and support key strategic projects, including new services, centre developments and growth initiatives.
  • Contribute to business cases, strategic planning and the ongoing development of cancer services across Queensland.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for innovation that improve patient access, service delivery and business performance.  
About You
We’re looking for a driven and adaptable leader who thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment. You’ll bring:
  • Demonstrated senior leadership experience in healthcare (oncology or private sector preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-site healthcare operations.
  • Strong understanding of cancer care delivery models and health sector funding.
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, develop leadership capability and manage complex operations.
  • Sound understanding of healthcare compliance and quality frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health or business (postgraduate preferred).
  • A commitment to innovation, excellence, and continuous learning.
