About the Role:
The Icon Cancer Centres Global Clinical Care team is excited to be recruiting for the role of Group Director of Radiation Therapy.
This dynamic and challenging role provides governance and strategic planning for both the Radiation Therapists working across the Icon Cancer Centre global network of over 40 centres, as well as the general radiation therapy practices across the network. This vital role oversees compliance to standards, best practice radiotherapy, RT training and education, and also the Icon Plan remote planning service. The role also supports the advancement of radiotherapy practices across the network, including advanced techniques such as Stereotactic Radiation Therapy, Surface Guided Radiation Therapy, and online Adaptive Radiation Therapy.
The role reports to the Executive Manager of Clinical Care and works closely with the discipline specific Group Directors and broader Clinical Care team to deliver Icon Group’s mission of providing the best possible treatments to patients as close to their homes as possible.
As a member of the Radiotherapy Practice Unit, decisions and inputs are required in review of audit results, incident management, clinical systems and clinical governance. The role considers all needs across the Icon Cancer Centre network, understands the unique requirements of the international landscape, and is aware of legislation and regulations in all countries with relation to radiation therapy practice.
Working directly with the operational teams to support the highest quality patient care and business needs, the role is diverse and engaging requiring the appointee to apply complex problem solving and can plan and adapt to challenges, enabling delivery of targets and objectives.
About the person we are going to hire:
The successful applicant will be highly motivated with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and will be required to take on an integral role in leading the radiation therapy practice at Icon. They will have strong leadership and management skills including project management, as well as strategic planning skills and deep technical skills.
The role is flexible in terms of remote working capability; however, travel will be required within the Icon global network.
Essential Criteria:
- AHRPA registration (or relevant country registration as a Radiation Therapist).
- Expert clinical background including radiation therapy treatment and planning as well as emerging and advanced techniques.
- Demonstrated experience in staff and budget management, analytics, and business development.
- Demonstrated leadership and management capability.
- Cultural and emotional intelligence.
- Diverse background of experience and locations (regional and international experience is highly desirable).
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems.
- Post graduate qualification (or undertaking) in business or health (desirable).
