About the Role:
An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist to join Icon’s Clinical Care Radiation Therapy team in a 12 month project role.  This role is a Group level role supporting the implementation of new technology across the Icon network in Australia. 
  
Icon Group offers state-of-the-art radiotherapy services across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Mainland China with many of these centres providing advanced treatments such as stereotactic radiation therapy and surface guided radiation therapy.  This role will contribute to the service development and expansion of these programs across our network. 
  
Equipment across the Icon Cancer Centre network includes, but is not limited to, Varian TrueBeam / Halcyon / Ethos / Clinac linear accelerators, Varian Identify and VisionRT AlignRT SGRT systems, Brainlab Exactrac systems, all operating with Varian Eclipse Treatment Planning Systems and Aria oncology information systems.  Stereotactic treatments that are offered include SRS, SRT, and SBRT.
  
The Senior Medical Physicist will work with the Clinical Care Development & Implementation team and Clinical Care Medical Physics team, in contributing to the advancement and development of Icon’s surface guided radiation therapy and stereotactic programs as well as providing onsite commissioning, training, and implementation support. This is a fixed term project role that reports to the Group Manager – Development & Implementation.

About the person we are going to hire:
The successful applicant will be highly motivated with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and will be required to take on an integral role in the implementation of new technology.  Due to the nature of the role, there will be travel required to visit sites across the network.
  
Essential Criteria:
  • ACPSEM certification
  • Extensive experience with surface guided radiation therapy and stereotactic radiation therapy
  • Evidence of contributing to/participating in development projects or other project level work
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated high levels of communication and interpersonal skills in a multidisciplinary team
  • Capable of self-directed work and possessing excellent problem-solving skills.
