About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Group Software Engineer to join our global team at our South Brisbane head office. This permanent full-time role is pivotal in developing and maintaining advanced radiotherapy software solutions that enhance clinical workflows and improve patient care across Icon Cancer Centres.

You will work with industry-leading platforms such as Varian Eclipse and ARIA, and collaborate with clinical and IT teams to deliver secure, efficient, and compliant software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using Varian Eclipse Scripting API (ESAPI) and ARIA API.
  • Create custom treatment planning tools and automation scripts.
  • Develop secure data exchange mechanisms and reporting tools.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and clinical staff.
  • Ensure software solutions meet healthcare industry standards and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners including vendors and regulatory bodies.
Skills and Experience Required:

Mandatory:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in software development with ESAPI and ARIA API.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in healthcare software development within a clinical setting.
  • Proficiency in C#, C++, Python, SQL Server, HL7, and DICOM standards.
  • Experience with Visual Studio and GIT version control.
Desirable:
  • Understanding of radiotherapy physics and clinical workflows.
  • Familiarity with healthcare quality management systems.
  • Exposure to machine learning toolkits.
