About the Role
Join our dedicated team at Bowen Icon Cancer Centre and make a real difference in the lives of patients and whānau. As a Health Care Assistant, you will provide compassionate, personalised support under the supervision of registered nurses, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for those receiving cancer care. This is a permanent, full-time position.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist patients and whānau with personal care and comfort during treatment.
• Support nursing staff with delegated tasks to maintain patient flow.
• Keep treatment areas clean, tidy, and well-stocked, adhering to safety protocols.
• Perform administrative tasks and assist with stock management as directed.
• Commit to ongoing professional development and participate in education activities.
What We’re Looking For
• A Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification (or working towards it).
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting and interacting with patients and whānau.
• Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and ability to work collaboratively.
• Cultural awareness and commitment to providing care that reflects Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.
• Flexibility, resilience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
