The Opportunity:
As a hospital Pharmacist based at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, Fitzroy, you’ll join our friendly team of pharmacists and technicians.
With a formal hospital induction program, we will train and support the successful candidate to deliver the best possible patient care.

In this role we will assist you in developing your leadership skills and you will support the Pharmacy Manager.
In this role, you’ll:
- Dispense and supply medication and pharmacy products
- Coordinate patient medication requirements for inpatient stay and discharge
- Support the efficient day-to-day operation of the dispensary
- Conduct medication chart reviews and medication reconciliations
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service to clients and patients
- Support patients, carers, hospital staff and associated employees
- Educate and advise staff and customers on health promotion, disease prevention, drug selection and the proper use of medicines

Apart from the standard duties of a pharmacist, you’ll strongly support and counsel patients on discharge medication and provide advice and education on the proper use of medicines. You’ll also be required to support patients, carers and other healthcare professionals through the patient’s journey.
What you’ll bring:
- Hold a current Pharmacist AHPRA registration
- Experience in an Australian based retail or hospital pharmacy
- Sound knowledge of Fred Dispense (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS)
- You’ll be a great communicator both verbally and in writing
- You’ll have proven time management skills and a key eye for details
- Empathetic and understanding mindset
