About the Role
Are you a community or retail pharmacist looking to broaden your horizons and gain valuable experience in a hospital setting? We’re offering a casual Hospital Pharmacist position, where you’ll be supported with comprehensive training and hands-on experience in clinical pharmacy. This is a fantastic chance to take the next step in your career and join the Slade Pharmacy team at Epworth Hospital in Geelong.

Whether you’re newly registered or have years of experience in community pharmacy, this role provides a unique opportunity to transition into the hospital environment and build your clinical skills. Prior experience working in a hospital setting is not essential – we’ll provide full training and support to help you succeed in the role.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you’ll be involved in a wide range of hospital pharmacy activities, including:
  • Dispensing and distributing medications in a fast-paced hospital setting
  • Providing medication counselling and education to patients
  • Supporting IVF medicine provision
  • Conducting medication reconciliation and preparing medicine management plans
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care
  • Considering the financial implications of medication use for both hospital and community access

You’ll be part of a supportive team that values learning and development, and you’ll gain exposure to hospital pharmacy systems, clinical decision-making, and patient-centred care.

This experience can be a stepping stone to future opportunities in public health, clinical pharmacy, or other roles within our national network.

About You
We’re looking for a motivated and compassionate pharmacist who is eager to grow their clinical skills and contribute to patient care in a hospital setting. Whether you're newly registered or transitioning from a community or retail pharmacy background, you’ll thrive in this role if you’re proactive, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality service.

You’ll be supported by a collaborative team and provided with the training you need to succeed, so prior hospital experience is not essential.

Key Requirements:
  • Current Pharmacist registration with AHPRA
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly driven and enthusiastic
  • Strong time management, planning and organisational skills
  • Commitment to delivering a high standard of customer service
  • Australian working rights

No hospital experience required. Community and retail pharmacists are encouraged to apply.
