The Opportunity
Are you currently working for a high-volume, discount chemist retailer and seeking an opportunity to advance your career into hospital pharmacy?
  
We are looking for a full-time Pharmacist to join our team at Slade Pharmacy for a period of 12-months, with the potential for extension for the right candidate. You will work Monday-Friday, with no weekend or public holiday work. You will be working on-site with our specialty hospital and clinical teams at the highly regarded Maitland Private Hospital.
  
Maitland Private is the only private hospital in the Hunter Valley region, featuring 154 beds, 6 modern operating theatres, a 10-bed ICU, and a dedicated day surgery unit. It offers a wide range of services including orthopaedics, cancer care, mental health, rehabilitation, and hydrotherapy.

About the Role
  • Conduct medication chart reviews and medication reconciliation
  • Dispense and supply medication and pharmacy products
  • Coordinate patient medication requirements for inpatient stay, day infusions and discharge
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service to clients and patients
  • Support patients, carers, hospital staff and associated employees
  • Educate and advise staff and customers on health promotion, disease prevention, drug selection and the proper use of medicines
About You
You are an adaptable Pharmacist who possess strong communication, interpersonal skills, the ability to work autonomously and prioritise workload to deliver the best possible care to patients.
Community pharmacists, newly registered pharmacists are encouraged to apply, full training will be provided for the successful applicants!

Requirements:
  • Be a current AHPRA registered pharmacist or a Pharmacy intern awaiting general registration from AHPRA.
  • Dispensing experience in an Australian based hospital or community pharmacy
  • Strong knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).
  • Value attention to detail and able to work autonomously.
