What You’ll Do
Unlike community pharmacy, where the focus is often on volume and retail, Hospital Pharmacy offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment where precision and collaboration are key, and your decisions will have a direct impact on the treatment outcomes of patients.
At Slade Pharmacy Northside, you’ll work closely with Clinicians, Nurses, and Technicians, manage specialised medications, and play a key role in patient care from diagnosis through to treatment and recovery. It’s a career move that’s not just a step forward - it’s a leap into a more professional, specialised, and impactful future.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting medication chart reviews and medication reconciliation
- Dispensing and supplying medication and pharmacy products
- Coordinating patient medication requirements for inpatient stay, day infusions and discharge
- Developing and maintaining professional relationships with key stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service to clients and patients
- Supporting patients, carers, hospital staff and associated employees
- Educating and advising staff and customers on health promotion, disease prevention, drug selection and the quality use of medicines
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for a Pharmacist who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative clinical environment and brings a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and a patient-centred mindset. In this specialised setting, high-pressure situations are not uncommon, so strong communication skills and the ability to prioritise effectively are essential.
You don’t need prior Hospital Pharmacy experience to qualify for this role as full training and mentorship will be provided by the experienced Slade Pharmacy Northside Team. Community and newly registered Pharmacists looking for their first role in Hospital Pharmacy are encouraged to apply.
Essential Requirements
- Permanent Australian working rights.
- General Pharmacist registration with AHPRA, with no restrictions on practice.
- Ability to commit to full-time employment, with occasional work on weekends when required.
