The Opportunity:
We have an exciting permanent part-time opportunity for a motivated pharmacist to join our team at Slade Pharmacy Mulgrave. Working 3 Saturdays per month from 8:00am – 3:00pm, with the option to include an alternate Sunday shift every second weekend working from 8:00am - 1:00pm, you’ll be based on site at the highly regarded Mulgrave Private Hospital. This is a chance for you to get your foot in the door of a pharmacy located within an acute medical and surgical hospital, expand your career and be part of a dynamic and integrated clinical team. 

Working with Slade Pharmacy Mulgrave, you’ll gain career-enhancing knowledge, experience and exposure in specialised areas such as clinical pharmacy, oncology, IVF and sterile compounding. Hospital pharmacists or experienced community pharmacists wanting to break into the hospital sector are encouraged to apply. We will provide you with hands-on training to assist in your professional development and transition into hospital pharmacy.

Key responsibilities:
  • Provide efficient clinical pharmacy services
  • Conduct medication history interviews, medication reconciliation and discharge summaries at transfers of care
  • Be efficient and effective at dispensing and distribution of medication
  • Provide medication counselling & education to patients
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with multidisciplinary teams and provide advice in regard to patient care
  • Contribute to training and educational sessions for pharmacy, nursing, medical staff and allied health professionals
  • Assist to oversee imprest services and continuity of medication supply
  • Support the quality use of medicines by participating in projects, audits, working groups or committees as required
  • Consider financial implications of medication use in hospital and for patients obtaining the medicines in the community

Our ideal candidate will:
  • Be a pharmacist with current AHPRA general registration.
  • Have previous experience working as a pharmacist in an Australian or New Zealand pharmacy.

  • Be able to demonstrate strong time management, communication and teamwork skills.
