The Opportunity
We are looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join us on a permanent full-time basis. Working with our supportive team at the Port Macquarie Base Hospital, you will have the opportunity to enhance your career in an ever-evolving multidisciplinary clinical environment and gain valuable experience in a hospital pharmacy setting.

Port Macquarie Base Hospital is a 228-bed level five facility with a 24-hour Emergency Department and a range of specialist services including intensive care, cardiology, geriatric, rheumatology, stroke, respiratory, oncology, renal dialysis, general medicine, orthopaedic, urology, vascular, general surgery, mental health, paediatrics, and obstetrics.
  
About the Role
As a Hospital Pharmacy Technician, you will be working with a multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical pharmacy services to both hospital inpatients and retail customers. Ensuring that all pharmacy activities are completed to a high standard while supporting the quality use of medicines - your responsibilities include:
  • Dispense and supply medication for inpatient, discharge, and outpatient care
  • Inventory control and management
  • Ward imprest
  • Process sales transactions and assist with account queries
  • Ensure patients and nursing staff receive the correct medication
  • Support patients, carers, hospital staff and associated employees
Our working hours are 8am-5pm and you will be scheduled a weekly half day to promote a healthy work-life balance. Your roster will also include a rotational overtime Sunday shift.
  
About You

Requirements:
  • Be able to address client needs with confidentiality, sensitivity, and professionalism
  • Have a high attention to detail and ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
Preferred Requirements:
  • Have experience dispensing medication in an Australian based pharmacy in hospital or community
  • Dispensary Technician Certificate or equivalent as recognised by the Pharmacy Board of Australia
