About the Role
We have a permanent position available for a Hospital Retail Pharmacist to join our dynamic team at Northern Beaches Hospital, located in Frenchs Forest, Sydney. You will be responsible for providing a range of pharmacy services to outpatients and inpatients to ensure the quality use of medicines within the hospital setting. This includes dispensing, counselling, customer service, outpatient services, drug information, and OTC supply. You will be serving patients collecting medications from the adjoining medical centre, emergency department and patients discharging from the hospital, along with members of the public and hospital staff.
  
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide efficient pharmacy services to inpatients or outpatients as part of the weekend service.
  • Serve customers that present to the retail area of the pharmacy.
  • Counsel patients on their medications and provide OTC recommendations.
  
Shift Information
  • Permanent part-time, 9-hours per fortnight.
  • Saturday: 08:00am-12.30pm
  
About You
You are at least 1-year into your career as a registered Pharmacist. You’ve built a solid foundation in pharmacy practice and are now looking to broaden your scope, take on new challenges, and grow your clinical expertise in a hospital setting.
  
Essential Requirements
  • Pharmacist Registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA), and no restrictions on practice
  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident with ability to work in Australia
  • Minimum 1-year Australian Pharmacist experience.
  • Personal Indemnity insurance.
  
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Prior experience working in a hospital pharmacy setting

Opened in 2018, the 488-bed Northern Beaches Hospital provides care to both public and private inpatients and has outpatient services such as dialysis and cancer care. The hospital has a 50-bed Emergency Department, 20-bed ICU, 14 operating theatres, 2 cardiac catheter labs, and 4 procedural rooms and provides a comprehensive range of surgical services, critical care and intensive care services. The hospital also has Maternity, Paediatric, General medicine, and Geriatrics, Cardiology, Respiratory, Haematology, Oncology, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Mental Health and Infectious disease services.
