In this role, you will work closely with leaders and teams across our hospital pharmacies, cancer centres, and Slade Health pharmaceutical compounding facilities across Australia and New Zealand. About the Role
The Injury Management Advisor plays a key role in ensuring timely, coordinated and compassionate support for our employees. You will manage and progress workers’ compensation and non-work-related injury cases, provide expert guidance to managers, and partner closely with our insurers, health providers, and internal stakeholders to achieve durable recovery and return-to-work outcomes.
This is a hands on, proactive role for someone who thrives in a fast paced environment, values relationship building, and is driven to improve safety outcomes through high quality injury management practices.
Key Responsibilities of the Injury Management Specialist role:
- Manage workers’ compensation and non-work-related injury cases across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal procedures.
- Provide high quality injury management and return-to-work advice to leaders, employees, and stakeholders.
- Coordinate early-intervention strategies and support employees to achieve safe and sustainable recovery.
- Prepare and submit workers’ compensation and income protection claims and ensure accurate, timely documentation.
- Maintain the injury management database (Solv Injury) to ensure detailed, accurate and compliant case records.
- Support coordination of pre-employment medical assessments and provide clear recommendations to Recruitment/Mobilisation teams.
- Liaise with insurers, treatment providers, and sites to support case progression and cost-effective claim outcomes.
- Attend insurer case conferences, claims reviews, and internal meetings as required.
- Contribute to reporting, insights, and trend analysis to support leadership decision-making.
- Deliver education and guidance to operational teams regarding injury management processes and obligations.
- Prepare succinct, high level updates for senior leaders on injury management activities, risks, and outcomes.
You will be a confident communicator who can build trust with injured workers, operational leaders, and external partners. You have strong technical capability in workers’ compensation or rehabilitation and excel in problem-solving, organisation, and navigating complex situations with care and professionalism.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in injury management, return to work coordination, or workers' compensation case management with return to work coordinator certification.
- Strong understanding of workers’ compensation legislation (multi-jurisdictional experience highly regarded).
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Strong organisational capability and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems (experience with Solv Injury or similar platforms desirable).
- Tertiary qualification in Workplace Health and Safety, Allied Health, Rehabilitation, or related field (Desirable).
