We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Medical Administration Officer to join our vibrant and fast-paced Oncology Practice Management and Day Hospital at the Tennyson Centre in Kurralta Park. This role offers a diverse and engaging range of administrative responsibilities. In this position, you will support both patient administration and reception, ensuring a dynamic and varied scope of duties.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing efficient, effective, and responsive administration services, ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service standards for patients, doctors, nurses, and all other internal and external contacts.
As part of a large team, we seek an individual with a broad skill set who is willing to work flexibly across a range of different duties.

A Day in the life at ICON Tennyson:
  • Greeting Patients: Collecting and entering their personal details with a warm welcome.
  • Scheduling Appointments: Coordinating external specialist appointments, radiology scans, and patient tests.
  • Triaging Referrals: Directing patients to the appropriate on-site specialists.
  • Handling Calls: Answering telephone calls and responding to enquiries with a smile.
  • Processing Patient Billing: Managing billing with Medicare, DVA, and health funds.
  • Conducting New Patient Calls: Providing accurate information about our services and triaging referrals.
  • Following Up: Reaching out to patients who have left messages via telephone, email, or SMS.
  • Data Entry: Ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
  • Managing Correspondence: Handling incoming and outgoing mail and emails.
  • Preparing Doctor’s Clinics: Organizing patient files and getting everything ready for the clinics
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities and skills:
  • Highly Motivated: Brings an exceptional focus on patient care.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintains a high level of precision in communication with patients and in record-keeping.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Exhibits excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Patient Service Excellence: Possesses an outstanding telephone manner and customer service skills.
  • Relevant Experience: Previous experience in a medical receptionist role or similar is desirable.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Genie and Gentu software is an advantage.
  • Team Player: Works cooperatively and effectively as a team member, supporting the Icon values to achieve the Vision and Mission of Icon.
