The Opportunities 
We are recruiting for two permanent part-time Medical Secretary positions. Both roles support our haematology service and require strong organisational capability, adaptability, and emotional resilience.

54 Hours Per Fortnight (4 Days Per Week)
  • Work four days per week with one set weekday off that alternates fortnightly (Tuesday one week, Friday the next).
  • Ideal for candidates wanting consistent clinic-based work supporting specialist patient care.
32 Hours Per Fortnight
  • Thursdays at The Wesley Cancer Centre.
  • Fridays running a satellite haematology clinic in Ipswich.
  • Suitable for self-starters who enjoy autonomy, variety, and direct patient contact across different environments.
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Welcoming patients and supporting them through their appointments.
  • Managing clinical schedules, consulting rooms, and fast-changing priorities.
  • Handling phone enquiries with empathy and professionalism.
  • Processing Medicare, Private Health, and DVA billing.
  • Coordinating patient information and maintaining accurate records.
  • Ensuring seamless administrative support for haematologists, including satellite clinic operations.

  • Experienced in a busy medical/specialist or surgical clinic.
  • Able to multitask and think on your feet in fast-paced situations.
  • Emotionally resilient and capable of supporting distressed or anxious patients.
  • Strong communicator with a calm and confident manner.
  • Organised, reliable, and capable of working independently or within a team.
