Who might suit this role?
Applicants with previous healthcare administration experience (specialist rooms, day surgeries, hospital clerks, allied health admin) wanting to join an organisation that places patient-focus to the front!
  
Hours/Availability: We’re looking for someone to join us on a casual basis with availability between 8am and 6pm on weekdays. Opportunities for shifts are also available at our Icon Cancer Centre Chermside location.

As a Medical Secretary based at our Icon Cancer Centre in North Lakes on a casual basis, you’ll join a truly connected and talented team who are passionate about delivering the best possible patient care.

You’ll be at the heart of a connected team, combining Reception and Secretarial Duties to provide seamless care for patients and vital support for a dedicated group of healthcare professionals.   • Welcoming patients, collecting and entering personal details
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Answering telephone calls and responding to enquiries
  • Setting up consulting rooms
  • Entering and processing patient billing (Private Health and Medicare)
  • Monitoring and assessing the administration care path of all patients
  • Maintaining and managing patient information
  • Supporting Icon's WHS Officers and committees to effectively carry out their responsibilities
  • Modelling and promoting Icon's vision and values.
About You 
  • Medical Specialist secretarial experience highly advantageous
  • Experience with Medicare, DVA and Private Health Insurance favourable
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate with clarity both verbally (face-to-face and telephone) and written
  • Ability to use computer systems – competence required in Word and Excel
  • Delivery of excellent client service (to internal and/or external clients)
  • Possessing basic knowledge of medical terminology favourable
