The opportunity:
We have an amazing opportunity to join our collaborative and dynamic Slade Pharmacy team in Frankston on a permanent full-time basis. Located onsite at Frankston Public Surgical Centre you will manage all aspects of Slade Pharmacy’s involvement in clinical trials while providing technical support to ensure an efficient, safe and high-quality pharmacy service is provided to our patients. In addition, you will provide clinical pharmacy services to patients of the day oncology unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Using CHARM (our Oncology Information Management software), coordinate and organise the supply of cancer care medications including chemotherapy and immunotherapy for the day oncology unit patients
  • Participate in clinical screening of cancer care medication orders
  • Dispense and supply medication and pharmacy products
  • Actively oversee the setup of new clinical trials
  • Participate in the delivery of clinical trials including but not limited to dispensing, drug accountability and preparation
  • Facilitate negotiations with sponsors/CROs
  • Work closely with, developing and maintaining key relationships with oncologists, nurses and clinical trial staff
  • Educate and counsel staff and patients in relation to chemotherapy and clinical trial medications
About You:
As a registered pharmacist with Australian based pharmacy experience, you will have a team orientated attitude, a focus on delivering exceptional service and care to patients, and the ability to manage your own workload with good communication skills to effectively liaise with a wide range of health professionals. You will be highly driven and have high attention to detail and a passion for building on your clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Current Pharmacist registration with AHPRA
  • Previous experience as a registered pharmacist in a hospital setting
  • Previous experience in oncology and/or clinical trials (highly desired) Demonstrated understanding of the principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Demonstrated understanding of the potential risks involved with handling hazardous substances
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems effectively and independently
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
