We are seeking a motivated and compassionate pharmacist interested in cancer care to become part of our team at Slade Pharmacy Auchenflower, located within the Wesley Specialist Centre. In this vital role, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care, working alongside a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
As a Cancer Care Pharmacist, you will be responsible for providing expert pharmacy services across a range of cancer-related areas, including clinical pharmacy, outpatient care, dispensary-based services, and sterile production. This role also involves mentoring and supervising less experienced pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, ensuring excellence in patient care and clinical standards.

In this role, you’ll:
- Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to oncology patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Accurately dispense and review medications for oncology patients, ensuring safety, efficacy, and optimal therapeutic outcomes.
- Conduct clinical assessments, monitor drug therapy, and make appropriate recommendations based on patients' needs and response to treatment.
- Offer counselling to patients and caregivers on medication usage, potential side effects, and adherence to treatment plans.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement evidence-based protocols and guidelines for oncology pharmaceutical care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to the pharmacy's quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities and stay updated with the latest advancements in oncology pharmacy practice.

Eligibility Requirements:
- Current registration as a Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
- Previous experience in oncology pharmacy or hospital pharmacy is desirable but not essential as comprehensive training will be provided. A strong interest in cancer care is essential.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Dispensing experience in an Australian based hospital or community pharmacy
