The opportunity:
We are looking for a Pharmacy Assistant/Courier to join our team at Icon Pharmacy Wesley, Auchenflower, to help deliver optimum patient-centred care and pharmacy operations. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with a busy team of highly specialised pharmacists and technicians to meet the growing needs of a wide range of patients undergoing cancer treatment.

This position is part-time covering 3 days per week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday (45 hours per fortnight). The shift start/finish times vary between 7:00am – 3:00pm, and 9:00am – 5:00pm depending on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process orders
  • Ad hoc and frequent deliveries of cytotoxic medications and other products to hospitals and patients off-site on a continual basis, throughout the day
  • Package and organise deliveries to specific standards
  • Stock management activities
  • Cold chain management
  • Data entry of pharmacy specific information into Oncology database
  • General and cytotoxic waste management
  • General administration duties
  • Assist with customer and clinic queries
  • Assist with preparation and processing of the PBS claim

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and who will fit with our collaborative team of specialised pharmacists, doctors and nurses. You will have a high degree of flexibility, ability to take instructions and follow mandatory procedures.

Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Be committed to providing patient-centred care
  • Be able to address patient needs with confidentiality, sensitivity and professionalism
  • Have a high attention to detail
  • The ability to work in a team environment

Preferred Requirements:
  • Proven time management skills
  • Proven computer literacy
  • Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of the potential risks involved with handling of hazardous substances and safe work practices
