About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated and reliable Pharmacy Assistant (Delivery and Dispatch) to join our Slade Pharmacy team at Epworth Hospital Richmond in a casual capacity. This is a dynamic and hands-on role that plays a vital part in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of medications to patients and hospital wards.
Working across Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 8:00am to 4:30pm (with a 1-hour break), you’ll be part of a fast-paced environment where your attention to detail and commitment to service will make a real impact. While the role is primarily focused on stores and logistics, any prior experience in pharmacy - such as a pharmacy assistant role - is highly valued and will help you thrive.
You’ll be responsible for receiving and dispatching stock, managing inventory, and ensuring medications are delivered accurately and efficiently. From unpacking and checking deliveries to supporting urgent medication rounds and IVF cycle dispatches, your work will directly support patient care and hospital operations.

Roster:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday – 8:00am to 4:30pm (1-hour break)
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, process, scan and distribute hospital ward medication orders and IV fluids
- Receive stock from suppliers efficiently and ensure timely dispatch
- Return unwanted/damaged stock to wholesalers for credit
- Process store transfers between wards and sites
- Unpack and check stock against invoices, reporting discrepancies
- Re-pack stock as required
- Deliver urgent medications and IVF cycle medications to wards
- Participate in scheduled pharmacy stocktakes
- Maintain medication levels and check expiry dates
- Monitor and report fridge, freezer, and storeroom temperatures
- Respond to customer enquiries
- Assist with documentation and record keeping
- Support pharmacy operations with delivery and dispatch tasks
This is a physical role that requires manual lifting, standing, bending, and squatting. You may be required to lift boxes up to 20kg.
About You

- Has experience in pharmacy or stock management
- Works well independently and in a team
- Has strong organisational and communication skills
- Is detail-oriented and reliable
- Has a positive “can-do” attitude
- Embraces change and continuous learning
Previous experience dispensing medication in an Australian or New Zealand pharmacy setting is desirable.
