The Opportunity
We are seeking a permanent part-time Imprest Pharmacy Technician to join our supportive and friendly Epic Pharmacy team at Mater Hospital, North Sydney. In this role you will provide pharmacy support by delivering, replenishing, and maintaining the stock levels of our pharmacy and the hospital wards. You will also have the opportunity to assist customers and patients with general enquiries, and support the pharmacy team with various operational and administrative tasks.

This is the perfect opportunity for experienced community Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Students looking to gain valuable hospital pharmacy experience!

Mater Hospital North Sydney boasts 223 beds, and provides intensive care, cancer care and surgery, orthopaedic and rehabilitation wards, as well as a maternity unit.

About the Role
  • Replenish ward imprest stock and assist in maintaining inventory levels both in pharmacy and in the hospital
  • Assist customers with general queries, including liaising with hospital staff
  • Support efficient delivery of medications to clinical units
  • Assist in the maintenance of all pharmacy storage areas through stock rotation, consideration of relevant storage requirements, expiry date monitoring, cyclical stock counts and general housekeeping
  • Support pharmacy team with operational and administrative tasks for inventory
  • Assist the pharmacy teams with other ad-hoc pharmaceutical duties
You will be working a 7-hour shift every Tuesday and Wednesday, for a total for 28-hours every fortnight.
  
About You
You are an experienced Pharmacy Technician seeking a new challenge or the opportunity to expand your skills into the hospital pharmacy setting. If you have some experience in pharmacy procurement, that’s a bonus!
  
To be considered for the role, we require that you possess
  • Previous experience dispensing medication in an Australian based pharmacy.
  • Australian working rights.
Hospital experience is desirable but NOT essential. Hands-on training will be provided to ensure the successful transition into hospital pharmacy!
