We are looking for a part-time Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Epic Pharmacy, Mater Private Hospital Townsville in Pimlico. This is an exciting opportunity to partner with healthcare professionals, gain invaluable hospital experience, and deliver optimum patient-centred care and pharmacy operations.
Mater Private Hospital, Townsville (Pimlico) is a 200-bed leading contemporary medical facility, including a dedicated Women’s and Children’s Units, an Emergency Department, and the largest private cardiac presence north of Brisbane.
About the Role
As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities include:
- Dispensing medications
- Counselling patients on over-the-counter medicines
- Learn to mix cancer therapies in a drug safety cabinet or using a closed-system safety device
- Assist with customer and clinic queries
- Provide administrative duties and support
- Process orders and manage inventory
About You
- Be committed to providing patient-centred care
- Dispensing experience in an Australian based hospital or community pharmacy
- Be able to address patient needs with confidentiality, sensitivity and professionalism
- Have a high attention to detail
- The ability to work in a team environment
- Dispensary Technician Certificate or equivalent as recognised by the Pharmacy Board of Australia
