We are looking for a casual Pharmacy Technician to join the Slade Pharmacy Pimlico team, who are based at Mater Private Hospital Townsville. This role will primarily support weekend operations, with additional opportunities to provide leave cover across weekdays.

About the Role
Hospital Pharmacy is a dynamic, fast-paced environment where precision and collaboration are key. As a Pharmacy Technician at Slade Pharmacy Pimlico, you’ll work alongside Pharmacists, Nurses, and other healthcare professionals to help maintain smooth pharmacy operations that support multidisciplinary care.
  
Key responsibilities:
  • Dispensing medications
  • Counselling patients on over-the-counter medicines
  • Learn to mix cancer therapies in a drug safety cabinet or using a closed-system safety device
  • Assist with customer and clinic queries
  • Provide administrative duties and support
  • Process orders and manage inventory

Mater Private Hospital, Townsville (Pimlico) is a 200-bed leading contemporary medical facility, including a dedicated Women’s and Children’s Units, an Emergency Department, and the largest private cardiac presence north of Brisbane.
  
About You
We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and brings strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. While hospital pharmacy experience is highly valued, it’s not essential as full training will be provided to aid your transition into this new space. However, previous experience in pharmacy dispensing is required to ensure a confident start in the role.
  
Essential requirements:
  • Possess Australian working rights, valid for at least 12-months from date of employment
  • Availability to work weekend shifts
  • Minimum 1-year experience in pharmacy dispensary roles
