Purchasing Officer - Slade Pharmacy Epworth Hospital Richmond




The Opportunity
Join our team at Slade Pharmacy Richmond, located within the prestigious Epworth Hospital, in a rewarding full-time, permanent role working 38 hours per week. In this dynamic position, you'll play a key part in managing inventory, ensuring timely product orders, and supporting critical procurement and stock management activities.
  
With a variety of tasks such as coordinating product recalls, assisting with stocktakes, and maintaining purchasing systems, this role offers a great opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment. Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure appropriate product levels are maintained and stored
  • Send orders to suppliers in an efficient and timely manner to ensure that stock arrives on time for distribution to client hospitals and patients
  • Effective management of product recalls
  • Coordinate rolling expiry date checks
  • Assist in pharmacy stocktake activities
  • Maintain purchasing systems
  • Ensure all contractual obligations with the hospital sites are met
  • Assist procurement team through the coordination of national purchasing, product and inventory management activities
  • Return unwanted/damaged stock back to wholesaler for credit
  • Management of invoicing, credits and supplier errors
  • Process store transfers to and from our Richmond site

This is a physical role that requires you to manually lift objects, stand, bend and squat. You will be required to lift heavy boxes of up to 20 kg in weight on and off trolleys, a pallet riser and shelving in our loading dock.

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking someone who can work autonomously in a fast-paced environment. With previous purchasing experience, managing and working with stock you will have high attention to detail and the ability to prioritise competing demands and communicate effectively with your team.

Previous experience working in a pharmacy or hospital purchasing is ESSENTIAL.
