About Slade:
Slade Health is a national provider of aseptically compounded chemotherapy, antibiotics and analgesic medicines.  It operates TGA Licensed manufacturing facilities in Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales.
  
About the Role:
This role of Scientist will be part of Slade Health’s scientific team and work in Slade Health’s laboratory. In this role your work will support the compounded products and manufacturing activities of Slade Health’s compounding facilities.

This is a 6-month contract with potential for extension for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

In this position you will be involved in:
  • Culture and maintain cell lines under sterile conditions (adherent and suspension cells).
  • Prepare media, buffers, and reagents.
  • Develop and validate cell-based assays (e.g., viability, cytotoxicity, reporter gene, proliferation, apoptosis, receptor binding).
  • Perform routine assays using techniques such as ELISA, luminescence, fluorescence, flow cytometry, and high-content imaging.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data using statistical and data visualization tools.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebooks and electronic records.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize culture conditions and protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and quality standards (e.g., GLP, GMP).
  • Conducting Stability studies of complex biological molecules (monoclonal antibodies and antibody drug conjugates), and simple chemical molecules (cytotoxics, antibiotics and analgesics)
  • Ongoing calibration, qualification and certification activities
What we are looking for:
  
  • Candidate must have a degree in Cell and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical, or other biological/analytical discipline.
  • You will ideally be familiar with the strict requirements of GMP.
  • You will be able to prioritise workloads to ensure that desired outcomes are achieved to challenging deadlines.
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
  • You will have good attention to detail, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
Required
  • Experience in perform aseptic cell culture of various cell lines.
  • Experience working with one or more of following methods: cell culture and cell-based assays (e.g., viability, cytotoxicity, reporter gene, proliferation, apoptosis, receptor binding).
  • Understanding of basic scientific principles and theories for plate based immunological methods like ELISA and protein binding assays.
  
Desirable
  • Experience working with monoclonal antibodies and ADCs will be well regarded
This role is offered as a 6-month contract working 76 hours per fortnight (Mon–Fri). Extension of contract may be available. Slade Health Mt Kuring-gai is a good location to consider if you would like to avoid CBD traffic on your trip to work!
