Slade partners with Can Assist to support cancer patients in rural and regional NSW

Slade has announced a three-year partnership with Can Assist that will help the non-profit organisation deliver essential cancer medication and financial support to patients in rural and regional New South Wales.

David Slade said that Slade are delighted to be supporting Can Assist to deliver their services across the region.

“Can Assist are an invaluable resource to cancer patients in rural and regional areas. We share their vision to provide access to cancer care for people outside of major cities, and are humbled to be helping them to achieve this. With the onset of COVID so closely following the bushfires, people in these communities are really feeling the pinch. The services provided by Can Assist will be critical to thousands of people who will seek their assistance following a cancer diagnosis this year.”

Mr Slade confirmed that Slade had supplied cancer medication to Can Assist patients in country NSW and beyond for a number of years via their hospital partnerships.

“Our organisations have worked together to deliver essential medication to local cancer patients for some years. We coincidentally share major anniversaries in 2020 – with Can Assist celebrating their 65th year and Slade turning 55. To celebrate our anniversary by giving back to the patients and communities who support us, is enormously rewarding. The patient is at the centre of everything we do at Slade, and by working with Can Assist, we can also support the broader aspect of a patient’s cancer care journey,” Mr Slade said.
