Nigel brings extensive clinical and strategic expertise to the role, supporting workforce development and enhanced patient outcomes. Overseeing Icon’s global radiation therapy function, Nigel and his team are part of the central Clinical Care team, who oversee the delivery of safe and high-quality care across our international network. His leadership is reinforced through his evidence-based approach, with tangible advancements in cancer treatment programs at other leading healthcare organisations, including a statewide MR Linac service and extensive brachytherapy service (one of only two publicly accessible in Victoria, Australia). His ability to strategically collaborate with partners in both the academic and professional sectors have driven improvements in patient experience, efficiency and clinical excellence. Working with local bodies such as the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT), and international bodies including International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO), Nigel brings invaluable expertise to Icon.
Prior to his role at Icon, Nigel held various senior positions within the field of radiation therapy, including leadership roles at Austin Health and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, which reflects his pursuit for consistent innovation as the industry is constantly evolving. In addition to this, Nigel also currently holds honorary positions as Board Director and Honorary Treasurer for ASMIRT and Chair of Radiation Oncology Alliance, amongst various others. He is often a guest speaker at international conferences and has received the Varian Award, highlighting his extensive contribution to the field of radiation oncology.
His commitment to the future of radiation therapy is demonstrated through his role as Adjunct Senior Lecturer and PhD supervisor at Monash University in Victoria, Australia, guiding and supporting the next generation of radiation therapists.

Nigel currently holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Monash University, an Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology and Bachelor of Applied Science in both Radiation Therapy and Human Biology from RMIT University.
