Successful accreditation marks global milestone

On Wednesday 23 December 2020, Icon Cancer Centre Singapore became the first oncology centres in Asia to receive the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI) EQuiP Accreditation Certification.

This marks a global milestone for Icon Group, whose longstanding governance processes underpin best-practice in patient safety.

Icon Group CEO Mark Middleton says that becoming Asia’s first ACHSI accredited oncology centre reflects Icon’s continued dedication to providing the best possible care, closer to home.

“At Icon, we have always been committed to providing safe and exceptional healthcare. This accreditation is testament to the importance our teams place on embedding patient safety at the heart of everything we do,” Mr Middleton said.

“Exporting Icon’s robust governance structures, stringent policies and procedures and exemplary practices into Asia for the benefit of global communities is just one way we are bringing personalised and exceptional cancer care closer to home for those who need it most.”

The Evaluation and Quality Improvement Program (EQuIP) is a quality assessment and improvement program for healthcare organisations that support excellence in patient care and services, and continuous quality improvement. EQuIP standards are rigorously developed and accredited by the ISQua External Evaluation Association (IEEA).
