Care closer to home
At Slade, Mina and his team are committed to providing accessible cancer care throughout NSW, including remote regions. They strive to reduce the burden on patients who would otherwise need to travel long distances for treatment, ensuring that quality care is available no matter where individuals live. Mina finds immense fulfillment in his role, knowing the profound impact it has on patients’ lives.
“By delivering treatment closer to people’s homes, we significantly alleviate the emotional, financial and physical toll on patients and their families,” Mina emphasised. “Knowing that our work brings comfort to those in need is personally very fulfilling.”
Innovation in healthcare
Mina began his career at Slade as a compounding pharmacist. Over his 11-year tenure, he has held numerous roles, including 2IC Manufacturing Manager and leadership of the Pharmacy Administration team at Slade Pharmacy Mount Kuring-Gai. He later transitioned to the role of customer-facing Key Account Manager for New South Wales.
Mina has seen Slade evolve and grow. He has witnessed groundbreaking projects that not only provide better value to hospital partners but also promote shared responsibility. From pioneering as the first paperless compounder in the Southern Hemisphere to consistently investing in employee wellbeing, Slade’s evolution is a testament to its forward-thinking culture and commitment to excellence in healthcare.
“Change is the only constant at Slade, where innovation is celebrated and creative ideas are rewarded,” Mina said.
Reflecting on his greatest highlights at Slade, Mina says the most satisfying moments have always involved collaboration. Mina highlighted, “Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to create solutions, that ultimately deliver lifesaving treatments where sometimes success seemed improbable – these are the moments that stand out.”
Leaders in care
Throughout his career, Mina has had mentors and leaders with diverse perspectives and a supportive ethos – qualities that have profoundly shaped his own path as a leader.
In 2023, Mina participated in Icon Group’s Future Leaders Forum, a professional development program which identifies and fosters leadership talent within Icon, supporting participants to realise their full potential.
“Throughout my career I’ve learned the importance of asking questions and listening to diverse opinions, which has deeply influenced my leadership style. I am grateful to my incredible team and the supportive leaders throughout the organisation whose guidance has been instrumental in my growth as a leader.”
Purpose at pace
In his new role as Business Partner Lead, Mina spearheads the implementation of external strategies aimed at advancing Slade’s services. Collaborating closely with internal teams, he ensures the delivery of exceptional service while leveraging his clinical pharmacist background and extensive business operations experience to support Slade’s customers and partners.
“By closely engaging with our customers, listening to their feedback, and analysing their specific challenges, I strive to tailor our solutions to effectively address their needs,” Mina explained. “This approach not only fosters stronger relationships but also enhances our competitive edge in the market, surpassing expectations.”
