A passion for quality
Catherine’s commitment to patient care and love for continuous improvement naturally led her to a career in quality management. In 2021, she became Icon’s International Change and Quality Manager and is now Group Manager of Clinical Governance and Quality, driving key initiatives like our successful move to SNAP (non-announced) accreditation assessments and the rollout of a new clinical incident management system.
Looking ahead, Catherine aims to improve responsiveness to incidents and provide teams with actionable data to make better clinical decisions.
“A career in quality aligns with what I value most—creating positive change and ensuring better outcomes,” Catherine said.
Curiosity, collaboration and challenges
Catherine credits the foundation she built as a radiation therapist—and her willingness to embrace new challenges—for shaping her dynamic career.
“Radiation therapy instils the importance of collaboration and connection, both of which are essential for delivering exceptional patient care,” Catherine explained.
“Coupled with technical expertise, these skills have been invaluable throughout my journey.”
But for Catherine, the real secret to building a varied and impactful career lies in seizing opportunities, even when they push you beyond your comfort zone.
“Every opportunity, no matter how unconventional, has helped me grow and make a greater impact. That’s the beauty of a career in radiation therapy at Icon is that it can open doors you never expected.”
