Introducing our UK Chief Clinical Strategy Officer, Dr Penny Kechagioglou

We’re pleased to welcome Clinical Oncologist Dr Penny Kechagioglou as Icon Group’s UK Chief Clinical Strategy Officer.

Penny is a highly experienced and respected Clinical Oncologist based in Warwickshire with a special interest in breast cancer. She currently holds key leadership positions in the UK NHS and has Board level experience in private and charitable healthcare organisations.

Penny has a diverse career portfolio and experience in medical and clinical leadership roles, strategy, governance, digital transformation, research and innovation and will support Icon’s entry and growth into the UK market.

Icon Group Chief Medical Officer, Dr Ian Irving said Penny will be an incredible asset to Icon’s growing doctor network.

“Penny has an incredible understanding of best practice cancer care, the UK healthcare landscape, and a unique mix of clinical expertise, leadership and organisational transformation skills and strategic vision,” said Ian.

“She is a values-driven doctor which aligns with Icon’s longstanding group of dedicated specialists and has an impressive understanding of the complexities of integrated care systems which is what Icon Group is built on – that together we can do more for cancer patients globally.”

Icon Group CEO, Mark Middleton says this announcement signals the beginning of Icon’s growth in the UK.

“Penny is an impressive and highly respected oncologist who is committed to bringing more care to people through innovations and strategic vision,” said Mark.

“She joins our growing UK team and will work closely with our clinical leadership team and Executive Manager Strategic Growth, Aldo Rolfo to help set our strategic direction of patient-centred care that will benefit more people across the UK.”

Penny joins Icon Group following the recent announcement of the first partnership activity with Nuffield Health at their Cancer Centre London location.
