About the Role:

We are seeking a permanent, full time Associate Nurse Unit Manager for our brand-new centre located within Mildura Health Private Hospital. The primary purpose of this role is to take the lead of our radiation oncology nursing function as we welcome our first patients. With the opening of our service in late 2022, we’re looking for someone to join us in October/November.
  
Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinically assess, educate, and provide support to patients with physical side effects, including emotional support and referrals to allied health
  • Ensure the delivery of exceptional patient-centred care within a safe and coordinated clinical environment by supporting the Site Manager in the day to day operations.
  • Work collaboratively to provide effective, visible leadership and supervision locally.
  • Contribute expert advice and demonstrate contemporary nursing knowledge and skill in oncology nursing practice in accordance with current legislation and professional standards and codes of practice
  • Understand daily departmental requirements and forecast activity to facilitate appropriate and effective resource management.

Skills & Experience:
  • Registered Nurse or Midwife with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Post graduate qualification in oncology and/or leadership and management (highly regarded)
  • Relevant post registration clinical experience in radiation oncology nursing (highly regarded)
  • Well-developed interpersonal and leadership skills that inspire the trust and confidence required to lead
  • Knowledge and understanding of the National Standards for Clinical Excellence and Standards.
  • Evidence of a commitment to patient/customer service, clinical governance and quality improvement.
