About the role:

We have opportunities for Clinical & Registered Nurses to join our team at our brand new Radiation Oncology Icon Cancer Centre in Auchenflower.
This RN role is responsible for providing nursing care to patients receiving Radiotherapy and will report to the Nurse Manager. The role involves assessing, reviewing and implementing care plans to patients receiving treatment.

The Nursing role has a great level of autonomy, while still working within a close and supportive team. It is a greatly rewarding role which provides great opportunities to build positive rapports with our patients.

The role of a Registered Nurse at Icon is invaluable, through clinically assessing, providing education, supporting patients with physical side effects, emotional support and referrals to allied health.  
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provision of advanced patient centred radiation oncology cancer care to our patients and their families, ensuring an empathetic approach to patients needs are met in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate a high level of clinical leadership, teamwork and development of workplace culture.
  • Monitor and treat patients for illness, lymphoedema or other side effects.
  • Maintain standards by ensuring best practice protocols and clinical guidelines are implemented and followed.
  • Facilitate learning, growth and development opportunities for the nursing team.
  • Support implementation of new systems, therapies and clinical trials.
  • Actively motivate others and maintain an environment of continuous quality improvement.

About the person we’re going to hire:

We are looking for either an experienced radiation oncology Registered Nurse, or Clinical Nurse, looking for a fresh challenge and to enhance their existing skills in a very supportive and friendly environment. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

Skills and Experience:

To join our team, you should meet the following requirements:
  • Radiation Oncology Nursing experience highly desirable
  • Genuine interest in cancer care nursing and professional development within this space.
  • Current AHPRA Nursing registration.
  • Ability to apply excellent communication and problem solving skills with both patients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment whilst maintaining good working relationships.
  • Experience documenting patient experiences and relaying patient feedback to Doctors and Nurse Managers.
  • Capacity to learn and use multiple clinical administration systems.
  • Lymphoedema and other Radiation Therapy side effect experience (desirable).
  • Understanding of clinical trial procedures and ability to coordinate with research teams.
  • Commitment to learning and continual professional development.
