The Opportunity
We are seeking an FP&A Analyst to join our lean, hands-on Financial Planning and Analysis team based at our South Brisbane corporate office. Reporting to the FP&A Manager, this newly created position will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and performance reporting that supports executive decision making and shareholder requirements.
This role is well suited to an analyst who enjoys partnering closely with stakeholders and developing strong commercial capability in a dynamic, private equity backed environment.
What You Will Be Doing
- Supporting the preparation and consolidation of budgets, forecasts and long-range plans across the Group
- Performing detailed variance analysis and providing clear, insightful commentary on performance drivers, risks and opportunities
- Preparing recurring management and performance reporting, including financial results, KPIs and trend analysis
- Analysing revenue, costs, margins and EBITDA by business unit, site or initiative
- Supporting business cases, investment proposals and scenario analysis, including materials for the Executive Leadership Team, Board and shareholders
- Building, maintaining and enhancing financial models used for planning and strategic decision making
- Maintaining reporting tools, dashboards and data to ensure accuracy, consistency and timeliness
- Supporting process improvement, automation and strong financial governance across FP&A
- 2 to 3 years’ experience in FP&A, commercial finance or a relevant financial analyst role
- Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis within a commercial environment
- Advanced Excel capability, including financial modelling and scenario analysis
- Ability to interpret complex financial information and communicate insights clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- High attention to detail, strong organisation skills and a proactive, questioning mindset
- A collaborative and adaptable approach, with the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline
- CA or CPA qualification, or active progress toward qualification, is desirable
