About the Role
As Pharmacist-in-Charge, you will take ownership of pharmacy operations while working closely with the broader multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care, including supporting oncology services within the hospital.

Key responsibilities:
  • Ensure pharmacy operations meet legal and safety standards.
  • Oversee procurement, storage, and distribution of medications.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient medication therapy.
  • Work closely with the oncology team to clinically verify, prepare, order, and supply chemotherapy treatments.
  • Manage and train pharmacy staff, ensuring adherence to policies.
  • Implement programs to improve safety and reduce medication errors.
  • Oversee pharmacy budget, purchasing, and financial performance.
  • Create and update pharmacy policies and procedures.
  • Act as a liaison with other hospital departments.
  • Counsel patients on medication use and safety.
  
About the Site
Forster Private Hospital offers accommodation for 69 medical/surgical patients, 2 Operating Theatres, a Day Surgery Unit, Oncology Unit, Inpatient Rehabilitation, Day Therapy Programs and a Hydrotherapy Pool. Radiology and pathology services are available onsite.
  
About You
You’re a qualified Pharmacist with the confidence to lead a dynamic team and the ability to manage your workload effectively. You thrive on solving problems independently and bringing practical solutions to the table. While hospital pharmacy experience is highly regarded, it’s not essential as comprehensive training will support your transition into this environment.

Essential requirements:
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Pharmacist with no restrictions on practice.
  • Australian working rights, valid for at least 12-months from date of employment.
  • Proven experience in leadership or management roles.
  
Desirable skills & experience:
  • Familiarity with oncology pharmacy
