The opportunity:
We are looking for a part-time pharmacist to join us at Slade Pharmacy Box Hill, based at the highly regarded Epworth Eastern Hospital. You’ll partner with clinical teams to deliver exceptional pharmacy services for health professionals and their patients. And you’ll do it with an innovative, multidisciplinary team of connected, caring people.

Slade Pharmacy Box Hill is a 223-bed hospital currently undergoing expansion. We provide care to both inpatients and outpatients within the community. We offer clinical, operational and quality pharmacy services to specialties including surgery, oncology, renal dialysis, urology, cardiology, neurology, general medicine, and more.
With the expansion Epworth will be opening 4 new state of the art theatres and 3 new inpatient wards. There is plenty of room to grow and expand in your career here!

The Slade team at the Epworth Eastern has 13 full-time-equivalent staff, including pharmacists, technicians and students.  Every day is different, and we offer a workplace culture that is supportive and caring, open and respectful and full of team spirit! For this role hospital experience is desirable but not necessary, if you're adaptable, motivated to learn, have a can-do attitude and looking for your next step into the wonderful world of hospital pharmacy then this is the job for you!

Hours:
9.30am - 6.00pm Wednesday and Thursday
8.00am - 4.30pm Friday
  
In this role, you’ll:
  • Dispense and supply medication and pharmacy products
  • Coordinate patient medication requirements for inpatient stay, day patients and discharges
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service to clients and patients
  • Support patients, carers, hospital staff and associated employees
  • Educate and advise staff and customers on health promotion, disease prevention, drug selection and the proper use of medicines
  • Participate in the weekend and public holiday roster

Who are we looking for?
You’ll:
  • Be a current AHPRA registered pharmacist with previous experience in an Australian based pharmacy
  • Strong knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS)
  • Have time management, communication and teamwork skills
  • Be flexible and adaptable working with a diverse team
  • Embrace change and commit to learning
  • Value attention to detail and able to work autonomously
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Dispensing experience in an Australian based hospital or community pharmacy
