The Opportunity:
As a Medical Secretary at Icon Cancer Centre North Lakes, you'll be a key member of a connected and talented team dedicated to delivering the best possible patient care. Our centre is an integrated site, offering both Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology treatment options. This role combines reception and secretarial duties within our Radiation Oncology facility, ensuring seamless care for patients and vital support for healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcoming patients and collecting personal details
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Answering telephone calls and responding to enquiries
  • Setting up consulting rooms
  • Entering and processing patient billing (Private Health and Medicare)
  • Monitoring and assessing the administration care path of all patients
  • Maintaining and managing patient information
  • Supporting Icon's WHS Officers and committees
  • Modelling and promoting Icon's vision and values
Who We're Looking For:
Ideal candidates have previous healthcare administration experience (specialist rooms, day surgeries, hospital clerks, allied health admin) and a passion for patient care.

About You:
  • Medical Specialist secretarial experience is highly advantageous
  • Experience with Medicare, DVA, and Private Health Insurance is favourable
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Clear communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Competence in using computer systems, including Word and Excel
  • Commitment to delivering excellent client service
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology is favourable
