About the Role
Slade Pharmacy is excited to become the new pharmacy services provider to St John of God Private Hospital Geelong in July 2026, and we are now seeking passionate and driven Pharmacy Technicians to join our new team. We have full-time, part-time and casual positions available, and we encourage applicants to include their availability when submitting their application.

In this role, you will support the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services across both inpatient and discharge settings. Working closely with pharmacists and the wider hospital team, you will play a key role in ensuring safe, accurate and efficient medication supply throughout the patient journey. Your responsibilities will include dispensing, medication distribution, stock management and supporting clinical activities to ensure timely and effective patient care.

You will also contribute to the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, including inventory control, imprest management and liaising with hospital staff to maintain seamless service delivery. Whether you are an experienced pharmacy technician or a pharmacy assistant looking to step into a hospital setting, this role offers an excellent opportunity to further develop your skills in a dynamic and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the sale of S2 and S3 medicines while displaying an appropriate level of knowledge
  • Dispense medications under supervision for hospital inpatients and outpatients
  • Assist customers with general queries, including liaising with hospital staff
  • Replenish stock and assist in maintaining inventory levels both in the pharmacy and throughout the hospital
  • Counsel customers on over-the-counter medicines as appropriate
  • Process orders
  • Assist the pharmacy team with other ad hoc pharmaceutical duties

Who are we looking for?

Key Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a pharmacy setting is highly desirable
  • Dispensing experience is preferred, however experienced pharmacy assistants looking to move into dispensing are encouraged to apply
  • Pharmacy technicians or dispensary technicians keen to transition into hospital pharmacy are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Can-do attitude with a willingness to learn
  • High level of professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
