QLD Pharmacy Pre-Registration Program 2025 | Icon Group Pharmacy Services




The 2025 Pharmacist Pre-Registration Program is now open across our QLD hospital sites on a full-time 12-month contract. We currently have internships available at the following sites:

The Wesley Hospital (Auchenflower) has 538 inpatient beds and is one of Queensland’s largest private hospitals offering tertiary-level medical and surgical services across 30 specialty areas.

ICON Wesley Pharmacy (Auchenflower) provides specialised oncology and clinical trials services to support our Icon Cancer Centre sites across Brisbane.

St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital (Spring Hill) features 250 beds, 15 theatres, an Intensive Care Unit, an Emergency Centre, Endoscopy Suites and three Cardiac Catheter Laboratories. Our pharmacy provides a wide range of pharmacy products and services, in addition to PBS dispensing.

Brisbane Private Hospital (Spring Hill) is a 181-bed hospital and provides services for orthopaedics, neurosurgery, spinal surgery, plastics, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, urology, ear, nose and throat, general surgery, rehabilitation, gynaecology and fertility.

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside (Chermside) has 227 inpatient beds, with specialties in breast health, cancer care, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and orthopaedics.

St Andrew’s Hospital (Toowoomba) is a registered not-for-profit hospital, established in 1966. Our pharmacy is conveniently located just outside of the hospital and provides a wide range of products and services to inpatients of St Andrew’s Hospital.

St Vincent’s Private Hospital (East Toowoomba) is a 189-bed facility with highly experienced and skilled staff. Our pharmacy provides a range of products and services, including inpatient and outpatient medication, over-the-counter products and special access scheme medications.
  
About the Pharmacy Pre-Registration Program:
As a pre-registration pharmacist you will deliver exceptional pharmacy services for our client hospital and their patients. And you’ll do it with an innovative, multidisciplinary team of connected, caring people.

Our program is designed to advance your clinical knowledge through our comprehensive and dedicated training. You will be strongly mentored and guided by our pharmacists to ensure you receive the support and development you need to kick-start your pharmacy career.

Key responsibilities:
  • Dispense medications for patients
  • Counsel patients on the appropriate use of medicines
  • Participate in medication reconciliation clinical pharmacy review
  • Liaise with hospital wards and associated employees
  • Medication supply and logistics
  • Assist with projects, audits and reviews
  • Attend seminars, training days and participate in an approved Intern Training Program

About you:
We are seeking team-oriented, enthusiastic graduates who are motivated and ready to learn from our team whilst working for a growing and vibrant organisation. Most importantly, you will be customer focused and welcome the opportunity to be challenged, actively applying yourself in a dynamic clinical pharmacy environment.

Skills & experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Pharmacy from an Australian University and enrolment in an eligible Intern Training Program
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to problem solve
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Previous pharmacy experience advantageous
