We are seeking a Research Finance Integrity Accounts Payable Officer to join our growing Research Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who thrives on accuracy, enjoys building strong relationships, and is motivated by work that makes a genuine difference.
About the Role
Reporting to the Global Research Finance Integrity Manager, you will provide financial and administrative support to clinical research operations, with a primary focus on accounts payable activities.
You will play a key role in ensuring research-related expenditure is accurately processed, monitored and recovered in accordance with study budgets, contracts and organisational requirements.
Working closely with research teams, finance professionals, investigators, vendors and study sponsors, you'll help maintain financial integrity while supporting the delivery of high-quality clinical research outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain purchase orders in accordance with procurement policies and delegated authority requirements.
- Review purchase requisitions for accuracy, coding, budget availability and supporting documentation.
- Monitor purchase orders through to invoice receipt and payment.
- Review and process patient service invoices and third-party vendor charges.
- Validate expenditure against study budgets, activities and contractual obligations.
- Identify and resolve invoice discrepancies and incorrectly allocated costs.
- Support sponsor cost recovery activities and revenue maximisation initiatives.
- Maintain accurate financial records, reconciliations and supporting documentation.
- Assist with internal and external audits relating to research financial management.
- Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy and compliance.
- Provide responsive and professional support to internal and external stakeholders.
About You
You are a highly organised and detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment. You take ownership of your work, demonstrate strong analytical capability and are committed to delivering high-quality outcomes.
To Be Successful, You Will Bring
- Previous experience in accounts payable, finance administration, bookkeeping or a similar finance-focused role.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Proven ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience managing financial documentation and records.
- A commitment to accountability, accuracy and continuous improvement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder management capabilities.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Desirable Experience
- Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping.
- Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics AX or D365.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Understanding of financial controls and reconciliation processes.
- Experience within clinical research, healthcare or clinical trials environments.
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
