About the Role
We have an exciting permanent full-time opportunity for an experienced pharmacy or dispensary technician who is keen to further develop their hospital pharmacy career. As the Senior Dispensary Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in leading our dynamic dispensary team at the fast-paced Epworth Private Hospital in Richmond.

This role suits a proactive, hands-on technician with a positive, can-do attitude who is confident taking initiative, solving problems, and being the first to put their hand up to support the team when needed.

The position also includes rotation into our stores function, delivery of stock to wards as part of ward rounds, and additional responsibilities across both general dispensary and oncology pharmacy services. As such, the role requires someone who is physically capable of undertaking manual tasks within a hospital environment.
  
The Roster
To support hospital operations, this role works across an established rotating roster. Shift times fall between 7.00am and 10.00pm and operate on an eight-week rotation, with a mix of early, mid and late shifts. This roster is designed to provide coverage across the day and requires flexibility to work varying start and finish times as part of a full-time schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily dispensary operations, including dispensing services, prescription collection, and medication supply
  • Support and mentor team members, assisting with training, coaching, and performance feedback
  • Participate in ward rounds and delivery of stock across the hospital
  • Rotate into pharmacy stores and support stores operations as required
  • Oversee PBS claims and support compliance processes within the dispensary
  • Assist with medication workflows across both general and oncology pharmacy services
  • Collaborate with pharmacy staff and hospital health professionals to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Manage inventory systems, QCPP and NDSS compliance requirements
  • Monitor and review dispense reports and patient account queries
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and assist in reporting pharmacy KPIs

Key Requirements:
  • Previous experience dispensing medication as a Pharmacy Technician is essential
  • A proactive, go-getter attitude with a willingness to take initiative and support the team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to work
  • Physically capable of undertaking ward deliveries and manual handling tasks
  • High level of professionalism, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Experience mentoring or supervising others is desirable
