About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Radiation Therapist to join the team at our comprehensive centre in Mackay. This position will operate on a full time basis, working 76 hours over a 9-day fortnight. Reporting to the Clinical Lead Radiation Therapist, you will provide high quality radiation therapy planning and treatment as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Clinical Lead Radiation Therapist in the operational management of planning and treatment.
  • Ensure training and support services are effectively provided to the Radiation Therapists and act as a technical resource to colleagues.
  • High performance Planning/ Treatment delivery and Pre-Treatment Quality Assurance checks.
  • Apply effective resource and workflow management strategies to optimise quality, efficiency and productivity.
  • Exhibit strong decision-making abilities.
  • Support change management initiatives and implement related processes.
  • Assist in the support, orientation, education and mentoring of radiation therapists and students rostered to the unit.
  • Support a high-performance culture that delivers quality patient care services through a patient centric and collaborative approach.

Skills & Experience:
  • Strong understanding of effective oncology-based service delivery models.
  • Demonstrable capacity to work effectively and positively as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Proven technical proficiency in treatment planning and delivery.
  • Excellent clinical knowledge with the management of Radiation Oncology patients.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to delivery of high-quality radiation therapy services.
  • Apply effective communication skills to represent Icon in a strong and positive manner to all stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated capacity to identify new quality improvement opportunities and implement and ensure adherence to clinical protocols.
  • Current AHPRA radiation therapist registration with an SA EPA Radiation Licence.
