The opportunity:
We have a permanent part-time opportunity (Monday-Friday 10am-3pm) for a Claims Technician to collaborate with our positive and dynamic team at the Epworth Hospital in Richmond. This is an exciting opportunity to further develop and diversify your career as you will be exposed to a variety of different aspects of hospital and specialised community pharmacy while working alongside a supportive team. You’ll manage all areas relating to PBS claims in a hospital environment. And you’ll do it with an innovative, multidisciplinary team of connected, caring people.
In this role, you’ll:
  • Prepare and submit PBS claims to Medicare Australia on a regular basis in accordance with PBS Regulations
  • Manage all areas relating to the claim
  • Manage processes that result in accurate billing of medications to hospital patients
  • Manage owing scripts, including obtaining and following up on script requests and reconciliation of scripts received
  • Assisting the dispensary teams with general day to day duties
  • No weekend shifts

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a collaborative individual who has strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise their workload while providing high-quality services to hospital staff and patients.
  • Previous experience in a hospital or community pharmacy 
  • Knowledge and understanding of PBS
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with FRED dispensing software is desirable
